Our second episode features a conversation with Christin Roberson. Christin was the first guest who was not already friends with Matt or Ryan, so this was a new experience for us. We heard that Christin's relationship-building revolves around food, so we offered to give her some candy and she agreed to do the show! We really enjoyed getting to know Christin and we hope you do too.
Christin earned a a Master’s in Education in Educational Organization and Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Clearly she saw the connection between education and leadership before coming onto our show!
At the time of the interview, Christin had just stepped down from her position of Student Success Supervisor from the online program at Azusa Pacific University, called University College. In this interview, Christin shares some of the leadership and communication strategies she employed in this position. Christin also shares some enlightening stories about learning from failure and the difficulty of giving and receiving honest feedback.
Christin is also a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach. She trains people to identify their top strengths and those of the people they lead. As you'll see from the interview, Christin strives to lead and communicate with others based on her knowledge of their strengths. She shares what that mindset looks like and why she believes it is so valuable. To learn more about Strengths, please turn to their website by clicking here.
